This week's challenge at Sew Many Challenges is to make a stair step card. This was my first attempt at a stair step card and I was a bit afraid of it at first but I can see myself making more of these cards in the future. You can find some great tutorials on how to do these here and here. For my card I used the SMC image of Christmas Bailey.

SMC November New Release Blog Hop

It is time for a new release blog hop at Sew Many Challenge. Angela has created 6 new images for this event and they are really cute. If you have come here by way of ZAHREEN'S BLOG then you are on the right path. For this blog hop I was asked to create a project with Angela's image of Miki Cooking In A Sugar Bowl. I used the image to create a birthday card but you could use it for so many other projects.

For this blog hop a grand prize of all of the November new release images and $15 to use at the shop. The winner of the grand prize will be chosen by Random.org from all of the comments that are left on the store blog hop post. This time there could also be a second place prize, but in order for this to happen we need to have 50 or more comments on the store blog hop post. If we reach this goal for the second prize the winner will receive all of the November new release images. In addition to these two prizes one person will be chosen from the comments that are left on each of the DT's blogs to receive the image that the DT member used to create their project.

I have also created a card with this weeks freebie image. This image comes just in time to create some very nice cards for Thanksgiving. You can find this image here.

I am the director of a local food pantry at my church and the other day I received a phone call from a child development center in town. The children at the center had decorated 14 canvas bags and then were taken to the local grocery store where they picked out what they wanted to fill the bags with. When we picked up the bags they were filled with various food items and children's books. Here is a picture of the bags that the children decorated.

After receiving these bags I wanted to do something to thank the children for being so generous. I created this card and took it to them this afternoon. I created the card using an image from a Precious Moments coloring page.

I was asked to create a project with a new release image called Owen In A Flower Pot. This is what I came up with.

This sweet little boy (Owen) could be popping out of the flower pot to surprise his mother (or some other special someone) with a pretty flower. This week there is also a freebie to collect, but only for a short time. I needed a simple note card to send to a friend who lives far away from me. I liked the freebie image a lot so I decided to create a note card using it and keeping the project very simple.
